I bought the Phoenix livingroom suite on 11/14/2010. The furniture was delivered to my house in great shape, no complaints there. My story:

I spent a whole day browsing furniture stores in my area. I dealt with one sales associate, and upon my return to the store, she was busy helping other people. I waited on her as a courtesy for 30 minutes. I finally found another salesperson, and she confronted us about it in the middle of the store. This employee was very unprofessional, unknowledgable, unfriendly, unhelpful and quite the ***.

Our new salesperson was great; however, I told him I'd purchase the furniture as long as I could have it delivered by 11/25. Their computer system was showing they could only have it delivered by the middle of December. He and his managers worked it, and we received our furniture on 11/22, great.

Something I don't think people realize is that the delivery folks are subcontracted and not actual Rooms 2 Go employees, so keep that in mind. Our delivery went great. Furniture is just as it was on the showroom floor, and I feel we bought at a good price.

Here's where we were mislead: We were told that for insurance purposes, the TV could only be picked up from best buy after the furniture was delivered. Ok, I can deal with that. We were also guaranteed that it would be in stock at Best Buy.

So a day after our furniture was delivered, I took the gift card to Best Buy to redeem it for the TV. First off, it's not guaranteed to be in stock, per Best Buy employees. Secondly, I wasn't told that I would have to wait five days after delivery to receive my TV. That was conveniently omitted from my conversation with the salesman being that I told him I wouldn't make my purchase unless I could have all the items by Thanksgiving because I have company over.

So I revisit the salesman last night and am told their headquarters is closed, so there's no chance of going up the ladder to have someone release my TV that I paid for. Today is Thanksgiving. I will have no TV.

I am also reading on this site that people are being charged twice for tax, and the gift card doesn't cover the tv amount. I promise if this is the case, my next trip to Rooms to Go will be very memorable for everyone in the store.

Monetary Loss: $4.

phdwillie and TP, you completely paid for those gift cards.

hate to burst your bubble Tp but that TV you got for your SWEET game room did not cost you next to nothing; it cost you whatever the $ amount of the gift card was plus tax.

We bought a living room set from R2G and got the Best Buy TV offer with the deal. We ended up receiving a $600 Best Buy gift card, valid 5 days after delivery (which the salesman told us and is plainly stated in the paperwork).

We were able to use the gift card AS A GIFT CARD!! In other words, we got $600 credit toward the purchase of a really nice LG 3D LED HDTV, not the Samsung that was offered.

Why y'all are having so much trouble is beyond me. As a matter of fact, I'm probably going to outfit another room with R2G furniture just to get the $600 gift card, and apply it toward the purchase of a new computer.

Ya'll are a bunch of ***. I bought a bed online from RTG and it was delivered right on time.

The bed is excellent. Now as soon as the card is activated I'm going to go to best buy and purchase a TV. If they don't have the one in stock then I may have to check around, take something else or "god forbid" wait until they get one in. In the end I'm pretty confident that I'll have a nice HDTV for my game room that will cost me next to nothing.

If something doesn't go my way, then I'll deal with. Not write some *** negative review that would only illustrate a person total lack of dignity and common sense.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!! RTG- DOES NOT FULLY HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!!!!! WATCH OUT- BEWARE OF THEIR SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ร‚ย

Hi, I would to tell you about our experience at RTG... This is our story:ร‚ย

Last year (March, 2010) My spouse and I were in desperate need of a new Mattress, our old one had put in it's time, and over the years began to sag, or as we call it " the hot dog bun effect" where u are both rolling to the middle and practically laying on top of one another. So that weekend, as my spouse was looking through the newspaper, quickly caught a Sales Ad for RTG, that caught his eye, the Ad was for a Special RTG was offering, "BUY a NEW MATTRESS and RECIEVE a FREE TV, as our GIFT TO YOU" (although we could only choose between 4 different mattresses, we thought anything would be better than what we had), So we quickly got ready and headed to our nearest RTG (an hour and a half away from home). Once entering the store, we were approached immediately and asked if we needed help, (we thought, wow that is overly great service, we felt as if we were approached almost too quickly, considering I was still halfway outside trying to get our son's stroller through the door), Anyways, we told the salesperson we wanted to look at the Mattresses from the Sales Ad. We were taken immediately to them, our salesperson was extremely friendly and made us feel very comfortable, seemed to be knowledgeable about ALL the different mattresses and how they were made and explained the Warranty on each to us. We were very impressed. It came down between 2, and we couldn't decide, my spouse liked one and I liked the other. Our salesperson had told us that he actually had the Simmons Beauty Rest at home and that he LOVES it, we were told that he had never had any problems with it in 8 years. So since that was the one my spouse liked, we got that one (after hearing our sales persons testimonial)... I wish people would stop saying you have to ask the right questions, because you do not know what questions the other consumers ask, unless they tell you... Considering I have had a brother in furniture sales for 11 years, we felt we knew the appropriate questions to ask, (and for the people thinking why didn't you buy a mattress from your brother, it's simply because he lives 3 states away.) When we decided on the King Size Beauty Rest, We proceeded to talk about the 20 year warranty, which we thought was better than some of the other 10 year warranties.. 1. We asked if the Mattress Protector had to be bought from them in order to guarantee the warranty, we were told yes. (I know you must always keep a protector on your mattress, from my brother. So we had no problem purchasing 2 mattress protectors, so we could put the other back on right away, while washing the dirty one.) 2. We asked how many supports have to be under your bed to ensure our warranty, funny thing is our salesperson didn't seem to know without proper supports the warranty is void, so we asked him to find out, he came back and said we must have 5 slats for support on our frame, so we said okay, good we already have a sleigh bed that came with 5, so far so good. 3. We continued asking several questions about the warranty, We asked if it should ever (in the next 20 yrs) start to sag how deep does it have to be for warranty to apply? We were honestly told the warranty would apply if we were unsatisfied for any reason, comfort wise, small dipping/sagging, if we spilt a drink that went through the protector (as long as the protector was on)... I found that strange since most spring mattresses have to be a certain length of inches in the sagging. We said that sounds great. We were told RTG stands behind their products and if the manufacturer would not honor the warranty, them RTG steps up and honors it and no cost to us. (LIES!!!!) 4. As we were ringing up the Total, with Sales Tax, Shipping/Delivery, Mattress Protectors, We received our Total of $2,245 We looked over the final review of the Purchase Summary, and we noticed where it stated "$348 dollar gift card value" ... Although, the mattress/boxsprings were $1900 alone and mattress protectors were $139 and delivery was $40 and sales tax was $166, if you add all the totals without gift card (for tv) value, it was the correct total. So I asked our salesperson why exactly is the $348 gift card value on our reciept, I asked if we didn't get the TV would it take the $348 off the top of the total? And this is what we were told: WE HAVE TO PRINT IT OUT ON THE PURCHASE, SO WE KNOW WHO IS RECEIVING A GIFT CARD WITH THEIR PURCHASE, AND THE COMPANY CAN KEEP UP WITH HOW MANY THEY WERE GIVING OUT, KNOW WHERE THEY ALL WENT. WE WERE ALSO INFORMED THAT THIS IS JUST A PROMOTION THEY WERE RUNNING TO GET MORE PEOPLE IN THEIR DOORS, AND IT WAS RTG's "GIFT" TO US FOR SHOPPING WITH THEM, AND THE MATTRESS IS THE SAME PRICE WITHOUT RECEIVING A TV GIFT CARD!!! So we looked back over our original sales ad we had brought with us and sure enough the words FREE GIFT TO YOU was stated several times, we could not see any fine print with catches, the mattress we choose also was $1,900 in the Ad for a KING.. So we agreed, and paid $250 that day in the store on our Debit card, and financed the remainder of the balanced. At the current time they were not offering TV's thru Best Buy, it was some store we had never heard of, and we were informed we would have to pay additional shipping to get the TV to us.. WE WERE NEVER INFORMED THAT WE HAD TO WAIT 5 days after the mattress was delivered... We were handed the gift card that day and told by our salesperson that it was ready to use. Once we returned home, we got online and the shipping was seriously outrageous, if I remember correctly it was more than double what our delivery on our bed was, so we decided the next weekend we would just go pick it up at the store, the only problem was that the store was in another state 3 hours away, but we thought well gas will be same as shipping if not less, so we made the 6 hour round trip drive for a dang TV, only to find out that we could not get the TV due to the fact the mattress has not been delivered we would have to have it SHIPPED after all. So we were not happy campers, considering WE WERE NOT TOLD THAT, we were told the gift card was ready. WE HAD TO WAIT WHAT SEEMED LIKE FOREVER TO GET OUR NEW MATRESS, it was 4 weeks when we finally got it, then waited another week and ordered the tv and paid for ridiculous shipping, when we FINALLY RECEIVED THE TV, my spouse was very DISAPPOINTED TO SEE IT WAS NOT FULL HD, it was 720, NOT 1080, and a 32" which we thought the 32" came with the QUEEN bed and thought 40" came with KING... BUT WE BOTH JUST SAID IT WAS A FREE GIFT, and said we wouldn't worry about it, because we would probably get stuck with another shipping charge. Well several months went by, and our mattress started gradually getting worse, it was already SAGGING! WE DEALT WITH IT FOR AWHILE, SINCE I HAD JUST HAD MAJOR SURGERY AND DIDN'T FEEL LIKE DEALING WITH RTG, but IT JUST KEPT GETTING WORSE. SO FINALLY WE CALLED RTG, and they asked if WE THOUGHT IT WAS DIPPING MORE THAN 1.5" (which we were told warranty was good no matter what.) WE SAID YES, WE BELIEVE IT'S DIPPING MORE THAN THAT... SO THEY SET UP FOR SOMEONE TO COME LOOK AT THE MATTRESS, but unfortunately they are ONLY IN OUR AREA ONCE A MONTH, told we would receive a call with 4 hour notice the day of... WELL THAT DAY CAME, I got up with my husband at 5am, had my mother come over as well, and we turned on the lights in the house, and kept the TV and Radio off ALL day so we could listen for them, by 4pm I called my husband at work and said I haven't heard a word, and nobody has been here, I called RTG CUSTOMER SERVICE TO TRY TO FIND OUT THE STATUS OF THE TECH, only to be INFORMED THAT HE HAD STOPPED BY 3 hours ago and NOBODY WAS HOME, I felt RED ALL OVER, first of all we didn't receive that 4 hour notification call and second I had been home with lights on, tv off, window curtains open all day!!! HE MUST HAVE WENT TO THE WRONG HOUSE AND WE DO NOT EVEN GET A CALL!!!! SO THEY TOLD ME WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT AN ENTIRE MONTH FOR HIM TO COME BACK!!! that's bull!!! We WAITED AND MY ARTHRITIS WAS KILLING ME BY THE TIME WE FINALLY SAW THE TECH, (by the way, no call with hours that day either, and finally got a call asking if I was home? He was knocking on the door 2 streets over, what ***!) Once he found the house, he did what it was he ha to do, and told US HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW WE HAD BEEN SLEEPING IN THAT 5" SINK HOLE... He asked how big my husband was, (which I thought was innappropriate) I said can you not tell by the picture on the wall? (my husband is 5'10 and 180 lbs, I am 5'8 and 140 lbs) we should not be too big... His reply was HE was just curious. How strange! He confirmed we could switch our mattress and we had 30 days to do so, from the time customer service calls us back. We went the following weekend to RTG and talked to our salesperson who told us our credit for an exchange would be $1,400!!! WE WERE THEN TOLD THEY HAVE TO *** THE VALUE OF THE TV!!! And *** the delivery charge, *** the sales tax, and mattress protectors !!! We knew they would *** the mattress protectors, but we didn't know about the rest... ESPECIALLY OUR FREE GIFT!!! that was not so free for us after all the gas wasted and shipping fee... MY HUSBAND STILL HAD THE ORGINAL SALES AD, we talked to the manager, but it did NO good... We lost over $800... And WE ENDED PICKING OUT A MATTRESS FOR $1,300 and in the end still left owing RTG $211... BECAUSE OF ALL THEIR BS, WE WERE TOLD WE HAVE TO PAY an ADDITIONAL $99 for Them to pick up their faulty mattress EVEN THOUGH THEY WILL PICK IT UP THE SAME DAY THE DELIVER THE OTHER ONE, THAT BY THE WAY WE ARE PAYING ANOTHER $40 to have DELIVERED, SO PICK UP AND DELIVERY IS COSTING US $140 TOTAL, I thought my husband was going to have a come apart! We eneded up being out $1,011 overall... THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A GOOD WARRANTY OR A GOOD DEAL TO US!!! Epecially when we picked out a cheaper mattress! BTW, when they first delivered our first mattress, the boxsprings were both BAD, we had to wait 3 weeks to get the right boxsprings undamaged!!! 7 weeks total of WAITING, just to sleep on a new bed!!!! We WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!!! We WILL NOT RECCOMMEND RTG TO ANYONE, if anything we will CAUTION PEOPLE FROM THEM!!!!! WHAT LIES WE WERE FED!!!! by the way my mom went in there looking at tempurpedics, our salesperson RECCOMMENDED IT TO HER BECAUSE HE HAS HAD IT FOR YEARS!!! Liar!!! THAT PLACE IS A JOKE! AND SHOULD PEOPLE REALLY HAVE TO SHOP SOMEWHERE THAT THEY HAVE TO KEEP ON KEEPING ON ASKING THE "RIGHT" QUESTIONS TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT GETTING PLOWED OVER??? EPECIALLY THE WAY THEY WORD THEIR ANSWERS, should u have to feel like you need to bring your ATTORNEY with u just to furniture shop?

We just bought two room packages from RTG, our salesman spent alot of time going over the paperwork, explaining that we had to wait 5-7 days after the purchase to pickup our TV's and that the tax on the items that we paid to RTG did not include the TV taxes and even showed us a worksheet explaining it out (which I verified using my trusty calculator). When our furniture was delivered yesterday we had two broken items and our delivery guys were very helpful and registered the damages, before they even pulled away my wife was on the phone with RTG customer care to schedule delivery of the repaired items in a few days and the dispatch manager had called me while she was on the phone to ensure that customer care had contacted us.

Overall we are a little bummed about two damaged items (out of 15) but they were on the ball with information and service.

If I was to make one complaint it was that the delivery guys made a styrofoam and cardboard mess that required us to vacuum the rooms, it would have been nice if they had left it as they had walked into it, but the overall experience was very positive.

Tim you are an *** who must be part owner of RTG.It's goimg on three weeks since I paid cash for my TV pakage and still havn't receivd my TV or the missing pieces of the furniture pakage!

I also had a bad experience with RTG.All the furniture didn't show up and it has been two weeks and I still can't get my TV.

The manager was rude and even said it's there money now.i paid cash the TV should be available right away. They never said there would be a wait.It has been over two weeks and counting. Is there a lawyer that will sue them?

First of all, if you read the disclaimer it says that your tv will not be available until 5 business days after you receive your furniture. This policy was put into effect for all the people who were buying furniture and then before delivery getting their tv and then cancelling their order, but keeping the tv.

Real nice people!!! Also, as for the gift card - it will cover the amount but you have to have a the sheet with a bar code on it provided by your salesperson at Rooms-to-Go. Check through your paperwork and look for it. As far as Best Buy not promising to have the tv in stock is not totally unreasonable.

How can Best Buy anticipate how many of a certain brand of tv's to have for a promotion?

To assume they will have it at all times is a little presumptious! Sorry to be rude but take some responsiblity on your end as well.

Just received a delivery for furniture and two pices were missing. Called 4 times regarding this and told that they would call back...Never did

I am experiencing the very same thing. I went to redeem my tv at Best 5 DAYS after the delivery only to have the gift card declined at Best Buy. I contacted Rooms to Go and they told me it's 5 BUSINESS days after. However, the tv rung up $40 more than the gift card. Corporate told me the tv is NOT actually a free tv, but a gift crad TOWARDS a tv. That's quite different from what the salesman told us considering my fiance specifically said, "there are no strings attached, right? We walk in, get the tv with the gift card, pay the tax and we're done" to which he agreed. However, they made several errors and now TWO WEEKS later, I am waiting for the gift card to get activated. Why do I have a feeling getting the tv once I get to Best Buy won't be easy?

And, the tv is just a fraction of the problems I had with them in this short time.

I feel I have been so misled by Rooms to Go and was treated like dirt from the time I made my purchase. All they seem to care about is making the sale and if the customer purchases the protection plan. I am in sales and if I treated clients this way I'd need a new profession. I plan on telling anyone and everyone to STAY AWAY FROM ROOMS TO GO!

Hi Appcf25! I am sorry to hear that your expectations were not set correctly by our sales associate.

First - in reference to the sales tax - you will have to pay sales tax when you purchase the TV at Best Buy with the Gift Card. RTG does not collect sales tax on the amount of the gift card when we calculate your sales tax.

In reference to the redemption of the gift card - an information sheet is provided to you with your receipt. If our sales associate did tell you anything less then being able to use the card after 5 days - I sincerely apologize as they should not have. We have to allow RTG and Best Buy time to communicate your information and activate your gift card.

Unfortunately the 5 days are necessary - however - once they pass - you should be able to redeem your card very easily! Again - we apologize for any misinformation!
